Jerry Miller brings over 40 years’ experience in retail management, with over 25 of them in technology support and management, to client engagements. Jerry draws from his background in operations, merchandising, and technology – installation and support of NCR (RPOS, RSM, RCM), Verifone POS, and PDI. Jerry is adept at developing highly collaborative teams that meet their goals and deadlines by sharing his past experiences and knowledge and fostering individual team member growth. He has a passion for guiding and developing the next generation of leaders.
Jerry comes to Impact 21 from the Kroger Company, serving as the Regional Technology Director, where he managed daily operations of the technology teams in various divisions within the Kroger organization. He worked cross functionally with all Kroger Headquarter teams within the organization to test and develop best practices and new technology and supported and grew seven direct reports (Division Technology Leaders) in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Ohio, Virginia, and Georgia. He previously held the role of Technology Manager in Cincinnati, Ohio, managing daily operations of the technology team within the Cincinnati\Dayton division. He worked with CBE, an IT Services and IT Consulting firm, as a Technical Support Supervisor and with EG America as the IT Infrastructure Manager, handling the infrastructure of EG America for the US division, building a support team for the new office established in Cincinnati, Ohio, and managing the technological aspect of acquisitions and mergers as they happened.
Jerry previously spent 22 years of his career at Turkey Hill Minit Markets, moving from Store Manager, Area Manager, and Help Desk Supervisor / Store Support Manager to Director of IT / Kroger Technology Manager (KTM). In this role, he gained his finesse in team development as the lead for the Office Support supervisor, Store Support supervisor, and LAN administrator on daily, weekly, and yearly tasks and goals. He worked with other KTM’s and Kroger teams on upcoming technology ideas and processes. During his tenure with Turkey Hill, he was a two-time recipient of the President Choice Award. Over the years, Jerry has gained several certifications to help him advance both professionally and personally, most notably – VASC – Verifone Authorized Service Contractor, Yellow Belt, PCI certificate, and even Forklift certified.
Jerry knows the ins and outs of retail and epitomizes the Impact 21 statement “we’ve walked in your shoes, served in your roles” as he started out in the industry at an early age. He has come a long way since he worked his way up from Stocker/Cashier to Hardware Distributors Rep for Jamesway Department stores in Secaucus, NJ. He began managing teams at age 20 as Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager, Field Support Manager, and District Advisor. He was part of a team who developed, tested, piloted, and deployed Radiant (NCR) RPOS to over 350 Convivence stores and has built, developed, and grown technology support teams in both the c-store and grocery store environments.
Born and raised in Coatesville PA, Jerry moved to Lancaster PA in his early 20’s and now calls Franklin, OH home. Jerry shaped his career through the inspiration of his father, who showed him that hard work and dedication is what makes you who you are. An adventurer at heart, he loves visiting the Caribbean, scuba diving, water skiing, motorcycle riding, sky diving, bungee jumping, wine tasting, and above all, spending quality time with his wife and granddaughter. Jerry also enjoys volunteering with his church for community outreach programs and children ministries.
