Companies are often great at meeting on a project by project basis. Impact 21 teaches them to meet cross-functionally as a way of life. Collaboration starts with senior leadership and is an essential element of all company-wide projects and endeavors.
Impact 21’s Collaborative Approach
We foster a collaborative, Business Alignment Team (BAT) approach. By forming specific teams, proper alignment and successful completion of projects is better ensured.
Together, teams determine the specific needs of each business function and provide accountability and direction for the organization. These teams are responsible for tactical execution:
Sponsors & Senior Level Steering Committee
This team provides leadership and direction for the project team in areas that affect budgets, timelines, resources and financial reporting. They provide final approval on all strategies and plans.
Focus: Strategic Direction
- Plan and timeline
- Scope change approval
Project Management Team
The PM Team is responsible for overall project success. They track project plan details and provide updates to the Steering Committee.
Focus: Project Success
- Develop Project Plan
- Manage plan – timelines, resources, budget
- Engage Subject matter experts
- Communicate status & issues
Business Alignment Team
The primary objective of the BAT is to bring integrity to processes, policies, procedures, and communications across the organization – moving from strategy, plan, and roadmap to effective execution. The BAT is comprised of all departments to ensure collaboration, buy-in, and efficiencies across all areas.
Focus: Execution & Alignment
Investment doesn’t always mean money. Investment can mean commitment, which is often more important
- Define necessary changes to current policies and procedures
- Present recommended changes to other working teams (Issues, Opportunities)
- Weekly agendas and action items
- Manage tactical execution and implementation
Collaboration – The Key to Communication
As we all know, collaboration is vital to business alignment and on-going stakeholder engagement. Improving company collaboration allows you to achieve valuable objectives:
- Gain understanding and buy-in of strategy and goals enterprise-wide
- Determine pain points that can be resolved by services and solutions
- Identify opportunities to improve collaboration in projects and day to day business
With our high-touch approach, a collaborative tool is essential to full communication, interdependency, and transparency. Though we look to leverage your existing tools like SharePoint before adopting a whole new solution, our EDGE project management and collaboration portal is offered as a project headquarters.
What are the advantages of the EDGE portal? A combination of features that allows the portal to track project progress across all phases while providing a quick-view of project status and metrics for senior management. Learn more about the EDGE Portal features.
